Newbie FAQs

Is it really free?
YES!

yes its really free - this isn’t run by a company or anything at all like that, its run by a couple of people who used to play the game and now run it as a hobby.

There is no charge.

Since we run it as a hobby sometimes we need some help with a piece of hardware or other things important for the running of the league and we may ask for some paypal donations. Note: we haven’t done that for almost two years now and the donation is entirely voluntary.

Can you train or coach a single player more than once in a game?

No. Although you can use more than the one free slot for TPs & CPs, by training multiple players, at additional cost, you cannot use more than one TP or CP per player per match.

How do you set up a substitution?

These steps should help with creating a substitution.

1. Select the player you wish to take off.

2. Select the conditions that must be met for the player to be taken off.

3. Select the inbound substitute from the bench.

4. Select the position you wish them to come on and play.

Lots can go wrong with substitutions so be careful that you have enough players in each area to comply with all the rules.  i.e. Maximum of 4 forwards, 1 GK, 1 SW etc.

I have had problems adding an image to my blogs and journals postings.  Can you advise?

Inserting images is a simple process once you know how.  In the blog or journal editor under the BOLD icon there is the picture icon.  You can use that to link the image.  You don’t insert the image from a local file so you must first have the image already uploaded to another website like picasa or flickr etc.  You will create a direct link to that image.

Each league has different expectations and different payout structures.  Some leagues will even eject a coach for just submitting lineups without contributing anything to the game community. Your contributions are judged by the Press Officer.  Coaches that fail to participate are at a serious financial disadvantage over the course of a season.  Participate and Compete.

There are two types of injury.  Random injury and Fatigue Injury.
There is always a small chance that a random Injury may occur.  This chance increases with the number of players on the field who are playing dirty or aggressively.  If there is an injury, the software selects a player at random.

Fatigue injuries are caused when a player enters into negative EL.  The lower the EL the more chance there is of him being injured.  Fatigue injuries are generally more severe.
